Dopo ben 3 anni di lavoro (volontariato, non certo retribuito), 1500 bug risolti ed oltre 20.000 commits, ecco che VLC 3.0 viene finalmente rilasciato, portando cambiamenti massivi all’interno del media player probabilmente più diffuso e amato di sempre, almeno su PC.
il rilascio porta con sé i video a 360°, il Direct HDR su Windows, supporto HTTP2.0, Codec HD audio che passa direttamente da Google Chromecast, un UPnP migliore, decoding hardware migliorato, streaming adattivo, supporto iniziale a Wayland, supporto opzionale a systemd, su Linux adesso funziona direttamente con OpenGL che con X-Video e molto altro ancora.
